Elwyn is a leading human services organization providing education, treatment, and support to children and adults with developmental and behavioral health challenges.  Established in 1852, Elwyn’s mission to shape distinctive, meaningful lives resonates with its 6,000 employees across eight states. 

As the key strategic HR business partner and member of the Elwyn California leadership team, this position partners with the business by providing full-service support in the day-to-day needs of employees, service lines, support departments and managers in all aspects of HR functions.  This support includes managing employee engagement and retention, organizational development, performance management, employee onboarding, benefit programs, employee relations, communications, training and development on HR-related topics, and in development and implementation of policies and best practices.  The newcomer will also provide valuable input relating to the development of employee self-service. 

Reporting to the Executive Director of Strategic Human Resources Business Partnerships, the ideal candidate must possess 10 years’ experience in HR (generalist background preferred) with five years in a leadership role.  The Director must bring subject matter expertise concerning California employment laws, including wage and hour issues, compliance and investigations.  Demonstrated ability to fulfill today’s workforce expectations while planning for tomorrow’s organizational demands is highly important.  A collaborative team player comfortable in a supportive yet ever changing environment will go far.

The Director will be based in Greater Los Angeles with the expectation of occasional travel to Northern California.
